Anyone desiring to enter into studies towards the Diocesan Priesthood will need to begin the process by contacting the Vocation Director or his parish priest.

After High School, the candidate will be required to complete a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Applicants for theology must have completed a bachelor’s degree, preferably a BA in Philosophy or its equivalent, with a minimum average of 70%.

Following this degree, the candidate enters into five years of theology in a Seminary chosen by the Bishop in consultation with the candidate.

After the third year, the candidate may petition the Bishop to receive the Diaconate and Holy Orders. After study and discernment the Diaconate is usually received at the end of the four years, while ordination to the Priesthood usually takes place at the end of five years.
