- Where is confession to a priest in the Bible?
Good Evening Everyone,
My question is: Where in the Bible does it give the Priest the "authority" to hear sins in the Sacrament of Reconciliation? I have gotten asked this by my mother-in-law a few times and she has pretty much said she feels the Priest is a normal man and I shouldn't have to go and tell him my sins. I should be able to talk directly to our God for forgiveness. I have looked in the bible but have not located the scriptures, but the Gospel of John comes to mind.
Just need direction....
Thanks for your help,
Jim
- What is the difference between pastor, administrator, monsignor, etc?
I was having a conversation with a fellow parishioner about the different titles of the various priests in our diocese. Can you tell me how one priest is called Pastor, another Administrator, others Parochial Vicar and a very few, Monsignor?
Thx,
Laurie
- Does God have gender?
My priest said that it was theologically sound to refer to our lord as mother, is that correct?
