Sa Saintet\u00e9 le pape Fran\u00e7ois a nomm\u00e9 Mgr Guy Desrochers, C.Ss.R., \u00e9v\u00eaque du dioc\u00e8se de Pembroke. Au moment de sa nomination, Mgr Desrochers \u00e9tait \u00e9v\u00eaque auxiliaire au dioc\u00e8se d’Alexandria-Cornwall. Mgr Desrochers assume la direction pastorale du dioc\u00e8se de Pembroke en rel\u00e8ve \u00e0 Mgr Michael Mulhall, qui est actuellement administrateur apostolique du dioc\u00e8se en m\u00eame temps qu’archev\u00eaque de Kingston. Bien que les gouvernements de l’Ontario et du Qu\u00e9bec n’aient pas encore fourni d’informations sur la dur\u00e9e des restrictions des rassemblements publics, notre dioc\u00e8se a d\u00e9j\u00e0 entam\u00e9 un processus de consultation et d’\u00e9tablissement d’un protocole pour une r\u00e9ouverture \u00e9ventuelle et progressive de nos \u00e9glises et la restauration de la c\u00e9l\u00e9bration publique de la messe et des sacrements lorsque cela sera \u00e0 nouveau autoris\u00e9. L’\u00e9v\u00eaque, de concert avec les \u00e9v\u00eaques de l’Ontario et du Qu\u00e9bec, \u00e9mettra des directives une fois que celles-ci auront \u00e9t\u00e9 v\u00e9rifi\u00e9es par les autorit\u00e9s sanitaires.<\/p>\n

In Canada, the 54th<\/sup> World Communications Day will be celebrated on May 24, 2020, the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord. You can read Pope Francis\u2019 message here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Holy See Postpones 3 International Events<\/h3>\n

Taking into consideration the recommended safety measures of the world health authorities concerning the current COVID-19 pandemic and the safety of the participants and faithful, the Holy See decided to postpone the following three international events:<\/p>\n

  1. The 52nd International Eucharistic Congress<\/a>, which would have taken place in September 2020, has been postponed to September 2021.<\/li>\n
  2. The World Meeting of Families<\/a>, which would have taken place in June 2021, has been postponed to June 2022.<\/li>\n
  3. The World Youth Day, which would have taken place in Lisbon in 2022, has been postponed to August 2023.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
