Les prochaines semaines s\u2019av\u00e8rent passablement occup\u00e9es pour moi \u00e9tant donn\u00e9 que ma participation est requise \u00e0 deux pl\u00e9ni\u00e8res annuelles successives\u00a0: la premi\u00e8re, celle des \u00e9v\u00eaques du Qu\u00e9bec, aura lieu du 2 au 5 mars prochain; la deuxi\u00e8me, celle des \u00e9v\u00eaques de l\u2019Ontario, aura lieu du 8 au 10 mars inclusivement. J\u2019ai la chance ou l\u2019inconv\u00e9nient si on peut dire, de faire partie \u00e0 la fois des deux conf\u00e9rences \u00e9piscopales puisque notre dioc\u00e8se s\u2019\u00e9tend g\u00e9ographiquement dans les deux provinces. Caritas Canada terminent l\u2019examen commun des partenaires de l\u2019OCCDP \u2013 <\/strong>jeudi le 25 f\u00e9vrier 2021\u00a0:<\/strong> Montr\u00e9al et Ottawa \u2013<\/strong> La Conf\u00e9rence des \u00e9v\u00eaques catholiques du Canada (CECC) et l\u2019Organisation catholique canadienne pour le D\u00e9veloppement et la Paix \u2013 Caritas Canada (OCCDP) ont finalis\u00e9 l\u2019examen des partenaires internationaux qui re\u00e7oivent des subventions de l\u2019OCCDP. Sur les 205 partenaires de l\u2019organisation, 52 ont d\u2019abord \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9tudi\u00e9s avant d\u2019en ajouter 11 autres, pour un total de 63. By my Side Ottawa \u2013 A Program of Spiritual Friendship and Healing for Separated and Divorced Catholics<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This 6 week online women-only <\/strong>and 6 week online men\u2019s-only <\/strong>program starts on March 27, 2021. <\/strong>By My Side is a non-profit structured support group for separated and divorced Catholics. All classes are hosted virtually. Christ holds those who suffer close to his heart and desires to bring about healing. This program helps participants find their way to reconciliation, peace and hope through Christ and the Church. We ask participants for a $40 payment to help cover resources and promotion. Any leftover funds are donated directly to charity. Our program (previously known has Journey of Hope Ottawa) began 6 years ago and has had over 100 class participants. \u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Holy Mass \u2013 Extraordinary Form<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Holy Masses in the extraordinary form are offered at St. Columbkille Cathedral on the first Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. beginning in March. An additional Latin Mass will be held on Saturday, February 27th<\/sup> <\/strong>since Masses were cancelled in January and February. These Latin Masses are in the form of the Liturgy as it was celebrated at the time of the Second Vatican Council\u2014the same form which nourished the faith of many of our ancestors. English translations of the entire Mass are provided.<\/p>\n

Expansion of MAID Poses Danger to the Disabled and Mentally Ill<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Senate has amended Bill C-7. If these amendments pass the House of Commons, it will make it much easier for vulnerable Canadians to access assisted suicide and euthanasia putting them at increased risk. The amendments are: 1. Allowing people to write advance directives that require euthanasia to be administered if they are sick or disabled and lose the ability to make their own medical decisions. 2. Removing the restriction on euthanasia for people whose primary diagnosis is mental illness. This change will automatically take place 18 months after the Bill is passed. The Senate\u2019s amendments will soon be sent back to the House of Commons for approval.
