The 2025 Jubilee officially opened on December 24, 2024 at 7 p.m., with the rite of Opening of the Holy Door of the Papal Basilica of St. Peter by the Holy Father, who then presided over the celebration of the Night Mass of the Lord’s Birth inside the Basilica. A jubilee is a special time when the Holy Door is opened to invite all to experience God’s love and the hope of salvation. The Jubilee is traditionally associated with pilgrimages to rediscover meaning in life, where one can experience forgiveness and spiritual renewal. The sacrament of Confession, an essential step in a journey of conversion, is emphasized as the starting point for finding hope. May this Jubilee be an opportunity to experience the forgiveness of God and extend forgiveness to others. An indulgence is associated with the 2025 Jubilee.
