Inauguration du ministère épiscopal
L’inauguration du ministère de Mgr Desrochers comme évêque de Pembroke aura lieu le 3 juillet. En raison des restrictions imposées par la COVID-19, il s’agira d’une petite cérémonie privée. Elle sera enregistrée pour être diffusée en ligne. Une célébration liturgique publique sera prévue à une date ultérieure, lorsqu’il sera possible de rassembler un grand nombre de personnes.

La création de l’archidiocèse d’Ottawa-Cornwall, Mgr Prendergast prend possession du nouvel archidiocèse et l’accueil d’un nouvel archevêque coadjuteur – mercredi le 17 juin 2020
Le 6 mai 2020, le Saint-Père a annoncé la création d’une nouvelle circonscription ecclésiastique, l’archidiocèse d’Ottawa-Cornwall, en fusionnant l’ancien archidiocèse d’Ottawa avec l’ancien diocèse d’Alexandria-Cornwall. Par la même occasion, le pape François a nommé Mgr Terrence J. Prendergast, S.J., archevêque d’Ottawa-Cornwall, et Mgr Marcel Damphousse, actuellement évêque de Sault-Sainte-Marie, archevêque coadjuteur d’Ottawa-Cornwall. Pope Francis has approved the promulgation of a decree recognizing a miracle attributed to the intercession of the founder of the Knights of Columbus, Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney
The pope’s action means that Fr. McGivney can be declared “Blessed,” the step just prior to sainthood. Fr. McGivney founded the Knights of Columbus in 1882, for the purpose of uniting Catholic families in fraternal charity and ensuring their financial protection through the Order’s insurance program. Today, the Knights of Columbus is a worldwide charitable organization and one of the strongest and most ethical insurers in North America, playing a pivotal role in the Catholic Church by means of its pro-life and evangelization efforts, and has benefited the lives of many throughout the Diocese of Pembroke. Upcoming Pilgrimage to Our Lady of the Cape and to the Shrine of Saint Anne
The 146th annual pilgrimage to Our Lady of the Cape and to the Shrine of St. Anne de Beaupré will not happen on August 8-9, 2020. The pilgrimage has now been rescheduled for September 12-13 or October 17-18, 2020. Pilgrims who have already prepaid for their pilgrimage will be refunded if they cannot be present to either one of these projected dates. The projected dates will depend on the federal, provincial, territorial and public Health governments’ decisions. Our Lady of the Cape, pray for us. Good Saint Anne, pray for us.
