E.M.M.M.: Emmaus Monthly Morning Meet-ups A Young Adult Gathering Saturday, June 5, 2027 · 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. · St. James the Less, Eganville “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:32) A monthly Saturday morning for young adults, shaped by the road to Emmaus: friends walking together, the Scriptures opened, and Christ met in the breaking of the bread. This Month Scripture Session: The Three Doorbells of God: Word, Glory, Presence All through Scripture, God announces Himself in three ways: through His Word, His Glory, and His Presence. On the road to Emmaus, all three rang at once. The disciples heard the Scriptures opened, recognized Him in the breaking of the bread, and saw Him vanish into glory. In the week after Corpus Christi, learn to hear God knocking on every page of the Bible. Then bring your questions. Talk 1: Technology: Real Presence in a Virtual World All year we’ve asked what our screens are doing to us. We close with the answer the Church has always given: presence. Being really there, for God and for the people in front of you. Just days after Corpus Christi, we’ll look at what it means to live present in a world built to pull you somewhere else. Talk 2: Discernment: The Road Back to Jerusalem: Taking Your Next Step After Emmaus, the two disciples didn’t stay put. They got up that same hour and went back to Jerusalem. We’ve spent the year learning to listen, choose, let go, and trust. Now, whether your road leads to marriage, priesthood, religious life, or a next step you can’t see yet, it’s time to take it. Book Club We finish C.S. Lewis’s The Screwtape Letters with Letters 29–31, and Screwtape Proposes a Toast if your edition includes it. The book ends where every life ends, and you’ll want to see how the patient’s story turns out. Also This Morning Adoration and confession, Mass, and lunch together.
