Death of Right Rev. Abbot Peter Novecosky, O.S.B. – Friday, August 16, 2024
Born on 27 April 1945, in Burr, Saskatchewan, Right Reverend Peter Novecosky has dedicated his life to the service of the Church. Ordained to the priesthood on 11 July 1970, in Humboldt, Saskatchewan, by Bishop James Mahoney, he quickly rose to leadership within the Church. On 23 July 1990, he was elected as Abbot Ordinary for the Abbacy of Muenster, Saskatchewan, a position that was confirmed by Pope John Paul II on 19 October 1990. His Abbatial Blessing took place in Humboldt on 26 November 1990. He was honored with the title of Abbot Ordinary Emeritus of St. Peter’s in 1998. (Read more…)
