ARTICLE – The Blind Girl

There was a blind girl who hated herself purely for the fact she was blind. The only person she didn’t hate was her loving boyfriend, as he was always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry him.

One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her – now she could see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, “now that you can see the world, will you marry me?”

The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend was blind too, and refused to marry him. Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying:

“Just take care of my eyes dear.”

Is it not also true with us as we often ask God for his blessings and forgiveness? And he never withholds his grace and compassion towards us because he loves us so dearly. He went so far as to give his life for us on the cross, he took upon himself our sins, our sorrows and our infirmities (Isaiah 53:4, Matthew 8:17).

This love God has for us is so precious that we really could not live without it. He has given it to us at the cost of his life… Considering this, shouldn’t we do our best, out of gratitude, to remember His presence, to worship Him every moment of our lives and to remind those who have walked away from Him, or do not know Him, of the immeasurable love He has for them?
